2001-2002 Team Captain for the Chicago Thunder USPV professional volleyball team. Terri Zemaitis-Boumans (Chicago): MVP of Chicago’s semifinal series sweep of St. Louis. Third in the league in blocks (3.1 bpm, 0.7 bpg) and ninth in the USPV in scoring (10.6 ppm, 2.6 ppg). Averaged 13.5 points (3.0 ppg) and 4.2 blocks (0.9 bpg) per match in the playoffs.

1999 – Led the USA National team with 3.29 kills per game on the Australia Trip. Also posted four blocks and a .486 attack percentage…Led the team with 14 kills in the three-game win over Dominican Republic…Posted 12 kills and a .409 attack percentage in the team’s four-game upset over Japan. 1998 – Joined the team on the Germany Trip, posting two kills in a five-game victory…Posted 31 kills, 14 blocks and a .323 hitting percentage in three matches of the Canada Tour…Tallied 15 kills and a career high 10 blocks against Japan, and had nine kills and five blocks in the Americans sole victory over the Japanese…Tied a career high with 17 kills against Italy in the Grand Prix…Helped the team claim the Canada Cup with 50 kills and 16 blocks in four matches.

Terri led Penn State to 2 Big Ten conference titles and a national runner-up finish in 1997.


Led Penn State to two Big Ten Conference titles and a national runner-up finish in 1997…She was the only player in Big Ten history to record more then 1,500 kills, 1,000 digs and 600 blocks…Finished her career at Penn State as the Nittany Lions’ leader in career blocks (736) and second in career kills (1,842), kills per game (4.02) and attacks (4,084)…A three-time captain for Penn State. 1997- American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First Team All-American…Asics/Volleyball First Team All-American…AVCA All-District 2… First-Team All Big Ten…Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA championships. 1996- AVCA First Team All-American..Asics/Volleyball First Team All-American…First Team All-Big Ten…Set school record with 1.85 blocks-per-game average…Fourth all time in school history with 535 kills. 1995- AVCA First Team All-American…Big Ten Player of the Year…Set PSU record with a 5.0 kills-per-game average…Second all-time in school history with 1,319 attacks. 1994- Asics/Volleyball Monthly All-Freshman Team…Helped Nittany Lions reach the national finals.


Graduated in 1998 with a degree in telecommunications from Penn State. Is married to Kerry Boumans and has six children. Has been coaching in the Naperville area for the past 14 years. Has trained several high school athletes and prepared them for their collegiate volleyball career.
